Ian Bell delivered the innings of his Test career, battling for 213 balls to score a crucial 78, while Paul Collingwood once again demonstrated extraordinary powers of concentration with a painstaking 40 from 188 deliveries. England began the final day at 132 for 3, but South Africa fought relentlessly and reduced them to 179 for 5 before Bell and Collingwood launched a monumental sixth-wicket partnership.
