Anthony Joshua is a god send to any coach who teaches clinical boxing philosophy. His style is very orthodox, his mentality, disciplined... But, in his first bout with Andy Ruiz, he deviated from that discipline and went for the finish early... Underestimating Ruiz he continuously engaged in the pocket VS the durable, quick hand speed fighter. This in turn worked to AJ's detriment. In his second bout, the man shredded his muscle mass then came in with a similar tier of discipline he demonstrated VS Joseph Parker. As George Foreman had said, "Boxing is like jazz. The better it is, the less people appreciate it." Not many people gave Anthony Joshua the credit he deserved stating he was running. They weren't appreciative of the subtle technical elements he was demonstrating. With that said, in this segment I would like to exemplify some of the element he used to hit and not get hit. It is very difficult to do, and with one miss-step, he could've been in a very bad place VS the heavy hands of Ruiz... That said, I hope this segment allows you to feel a greater appreciation for Joshua's skill set. Truly, it was a brilliant performance, and intelligent strategy.
