Three Ways to Counter the Right Hook - Southpaw v Southpaw. Tom Yankello of the @WorldClassBoxingChannel gives you a padwork drill that is for southpaw vs southpaw, but can also be reversed for orthodox vs orthodox. In this padwork drill, Tom provides you three ways to counter the right hook. Tom talks to you about defending and countering the right hook as a southpaw vs southpaw. In this drill, you start off with a one two hook. This is countered by a right hook. You would block the right hook and come back with the left hand and come back with a right hook. Tom explains how to properly do that move by turtling down to defend yourself. Tom also explains how to properly distribute your weight. Then the next move is you twist your hips clockwise, without over turning, and come back with the right hook and then throw the left hand. Then you weave under the right hook and take an angle so that you can throw the right hook to the body and come back with the left hand and another hook. The number of punches thrown in this drill is 10. It is a 10 punch pad work drill. 0:00 Introduction 2:01 Southpaw vs. Southpaw 2:41 Turtle down 3:31 Watch the "over turn" 4:30 10 punches 5:30 Watch Zay go!
