In this lesson, you will become aware of the gender stereotypes related to work. You will recognise some of the key skills needed to do a job and create a video explaining that getting a job depends on the skills and attributes that a person possesses.
In the lesson today we will look at the term 'sector' and why jobs may be categorised. We will also consider the different skills needed for different careers.
Today we will look at interest rates. How do they work when we are saving money with a bank or building society? And how do they work when we are borrowing from them?
This lesson will consider why we have money... what's the point of it? We will also look at why saving is important and different ways of paying for things.
Children will learn what biodiversity means and what makes up an ecosystem. They will also learn that these places are under threat and carry out a speaking and listening task with their parents and carers about what they can do to help.
Children will decode the word to identify the meaning and look at what impact this has on animals. Children will also understand how human activity is major factor and plan, prepare and conduct a speech
Children will be looking at safety signs outside and know their importance. Laws will be explored and children will watch a police officer being interviewed. They will end the lesson by creating their own rules.
Children will learn how to reduce the risk of fires in their homes by identifying hazards and rectifying them. They will know the importance of smoke detectors and listen to a firefighter's safety advice. They will then create their own evacuation plan for their house.
Children will learn about climate change and the causes and effects. They will learn about the greenhouse gases and carry out an experiment to see these effects.
Children will learn all about reducing, reusing and recycling. They will explore how a landfill operates and create their own product from recycling household items.
