If there is any song that can be best defined as “catchy”, ‘Jogan’ is the one. However, the sentiments behind ‘Jogan’, with lyrics written by Meenu Singh, focus on a “catch” that has been lost by a woman, and her attempt at connecting with her lost love. Living in seclusion, the anchoress expresses the madness behind her emotion and, while lost in deep thoughts for him, she loses sight of time as the only periodicity that now matters to her is receiving an appropriate response from her absent love. Incorporating a memorable tune, backed by powerhouse vocals and uptempo rhythms, ‘Jogan’ is undoubtedly an engaging dance-pop winner that supports the bitter-sweet spurned-lover lyrics, backed by a hypnotic beat and a catchy hook, making ‘Jogan’ a potential dancefloor classic. With thoughtful lyrics penned by Meenu Singh, Bengali-based virtuoso singer Saberi Bhattacharya, who shuffles her career between singing in her mother tongue and in Hindi, adds life to the song by lending her melodic voice. The song combines the incredible talent of Jayanti Gosher on Rabab, Girish Vishwa on percussion, and guitarist Vinnie Hutton, fusing the reggae beats with Indian rhythms, thanks to the musical genius of composer Siddharth Kasyap.
