Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have signed South African all-rounder George Linde as a replacement for Wanindu Hasaranga for the remainder of IPL 2026. Hasaranga, who was acquired by the franchise for ₹2 crore at the auction, has been ruled out of the entire tournament due to a persistent hamstring injury sustained during the opening match of the 2026 T20 World Cup. His unavailability was further confirmed after he failed to undergo the mandatory fitness assessments required to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Sri Lanka Cricket. George Linde joins the squad at his reserve price of ₹1 crore and is set to make his IPL debut. A veteran in the T20 circuit with 250 matches under his belt, Linde brings a wealth of experience from leagues like the SA20, The Hundred, and the PSL. The 34-year-old left-arm orthodox spinner and hard-hitting lower-order batter has claimed 218 wickets and scored over 2,700 runs in the shortest format.
