The ladies come out of their corners fighting almost immediately, dispensing with any introductory banter, which is not to say that they don’t keep up some verbal abuse alongside the action. Liberty takes the initial upper hand after offering a handshake and clamping on a Headlock instead. The ladies quickly run through a series of reversals, however, as they take each other to the mat with Surfboards and leg-twisting submissions. A test of strength gives way to brutal chokes, corner work is followed up with the most explosive series of kicks you’ve ever seen, Front Facelocks are reversed into neckscissors…these athletes both give it their all with neither achieving a clear sustained advantage. A series of clever pin attempts finally pays off for one woman as she signs off with a cocky “better luck next time.”
