Taking place during the WCW vs nWo battle that dominated much of WCW's television at the time, Spring Stampede turned out to be a good event with a few noteworthy moments taking place. Spring Stampede 1997 features Diamond Dallas Page's first PPV Main Event singles match. DDP vs Randy Savage ends the show and the outcome of the match truly solidified Diamond Dallas Page as a big player within WCW. The Diamond Dallas Page vs Randy Savage match is also the first bout in their award winning feud that lasted throughout the year. Booker T, Stevie Ray, Lex Luger and The Giant are also featured in a 4 corners match with the winner getting a shot at Hollywood Hogan's World Championship. This PPV features the famous Booker T "Hulk Hogan, we comin' for you" promo.
