Thailand gave the world the Art of Eight Limbs. But a different fighting system emerged from Russia — one built around relentless pressure, explosive combinations, calculated movement, and a completely different approach to striking. Known as Soviet-style Muay Thai, this approach has become increasingly visible on the modern international stage. And some of its fighters are making serious statements. Asadula Imangazaliev introduced himself to ONE Championship with a spectacular knockout of Thai fighter Petmuangsri Wankhongohm. Then he delivered another devastating performance against Denphuthai Superlek, showcasing the speed, pressure, and unusual attack angles that make his style so dangerous. But the real test came when Kiamran Nabati faced one of Muay Thai's greatest legends: Nong-O Hama. Nabati brought constant pressure, sharp boxing combinations, low kicks, and a carefully executed game plan. Nong-O tried to answer with his legendary clinch and knees, but Nabati refused to let him settle into his rhythm. The result was a fascinating clash between two different approaches to the same combat sport. So what exactly makes this style different? From the powerful rear-leg teep to its boxing-inspired stance, relentless punching combinations, and emphasis on mobility, we're breaking down the techniques and tactical ideas behind this modern striking approach. Is this the future of Muay Thai? Watch until the end and decide. They Thought Traditional Muay Thai Was Untouchable… Then Russia Arrived! #muaythai #traditional #russia #mma #martialarts #combatsports
