If you're struggling to win with the Defect in Slay the Spire 2, you're probably making a few common beginner mistakes. The Defect is one of the most powerful characters in the game, but only if you understand how its core mechanics actually work. In this beginner guide, I break down the three pillars of the Defect, the biggest mistakes new players make, and how to build stronger decks from Act 1 all the way through the late game. You'll learn how to use orbs, Focus scaling, and orb cycling to build powerful Defect decks and stop losing runs to common beginner traps. Whether you're brand new to Slay the Spire or transitioning from the first game, this guide will help you start winning more runs with the Defect.
