Feyenoord Rotterdam from the Netherlands survived three qualifying rounds, won their group and managed to survive three knock-out rounds to reach the final after beating Partizan, Slavia Praha and Marseille. In the end AS Roma, coached by Mourinho, beat Feyenoord in the final to win Roma's first European trophy. This was also the first edition of the Europa Conference League. It think it was a big success and the tournament should stay indefinitely.
