Substâncias presentes no mamão papaia colocadas em contato com células extraídas de tumores do intestino foram capazes de diminuir sua proliferação. Isto aconteceu in vitro, e em tumores de humanos. Mais: quanto mais maduro o mamão, maior é a ação das substâncias. Essas descobertas, publicadas online na Scientific Reports, foram feitas pelos pesquisadores João Paulo Fabi e Samira Prado, do Centro de Pesquisas em Alimentos (FoRC), da USP. Quer saber mais?
