On September 5, 2014, at the Yoyogi #2 Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan, rising Japanese sensation Naoya “Monster” Inoue made the first defense of his WBC Light-Flyweight title against seasoned Thai contender Wittawas Basapean, also known as Samartlek Kokietgym. From the outset, Inoue displayed the poise and skill of a seasoned champion despite being only 21 years old. His sharp jab, precise counters, and relentless body attacks quickly took control of the fight. Inoue dropped Basapean twice—once in the 4th round and again in the 6th—showcasing his trademark combination of timing and power. Basapean, known for his grit and durability, kept pressing forward despite the punishment. However, Inoue’s accuracy and pace wore him down over the rounds. In round 11, with Basapean absorbing heavy punishment, the referee stepped in to wave it off at 1:08, giving Inoue a dominant TKO victory. 📍 Date: September 5, 2014 📍 Location: Yoyogi #2 Gymnasium, Tokyo, Japan 🏆 Result: Inoue wins via TKO in Round 11 🏆 Title on the line: WBC Light-Flyweight Championship (1st Defense) Watch a young Naoya Inoue deliver a clinical, powerful performance in one of his earliest world title defenses. -------------------- ╔═╦╗╔╦╗╔═╦═╦╦╦╦╗╔═╗ ║╚╣║║║╚╣╚╣╔╣╔╣║╚╣═╣ ╠╗║╚╝║║╠╗║╚╣║║║║║═╣ ╚═╩══╩═╩═╩═╩╝╚╩═╩═╝ to the channel people 00:00 Intro 1:05 Round 1 3:15 Round 2 5:25 Round 3 7:35 Round 4 -------------------- Follow me insta @charlessalbox facebook @charlessalbox #boxing #usaboxing #boxeocubano #canelo #inoue #naoyainoue
